Hey Micheal...thanks for remembering me...it has been a while...too many project not enough time as it were. That Cub has been the biggest PITA...If I didn't like it so much I'd sell it. I'm not ruling anythin out on this engine so past damage is a possibility. I don't "think" that the internal tolerances are causing the oil pressure issue because I never had problems with a warm engine but rather had low pressure on start up. It had 0 pressure for 30 seconds or so. Finally the pressure came up..I know it because the engine slmokes just a little...and as soon as the oil pressure came up it started smoking. I'm into the engine to replace the piston rings and clean / inspect / replace some valves...but I have to get at the oil pressure problem first. Thanks again!
