Ron: I believe while this is basically the same engine as used in a lot of the tractors wolfman mentioned. I believe the block was cast slightly different for the only Farmall that use the engine, that being the 544. About one year ago here on YT discussions a guy was looking for a diesel repower for a 300 or 350. Here at one time there were a few of those engines around salvage yards. They came from some of the European tractors equiped with cabs. They had quite a history of electrical fires. I suggested at the time if I were looking to repower and older Farmall with deisel, 239 is the way I would go, thinking of those 239s I knew of. I was advised that may not be quite as simple as it sounded, for the reason I listed above. I would do a bit of part number checking before buying.
