You need to be carful here. The 544 was the only American designed and built tractor to use that engine. If you are planning on replacing a 239 in a 544 with one from say, a 574, make sure that all of the major parts are the same or can be made to work before you spend a bunch of money. For example, I know that the British utilities have an internal oil pump that uses a oil filter set-up that places the filters right where the 544"s frame rail needs to be. Another example is the oil pan on the British tractors, it is a heavy cast design, which the front end of the tractor bolts up to. This also means that the 544 used a different front cover, as that is what it"s frame rails bolt to. The rear plate will also be different, since the starter bolted to it on the British tractors.
