O.T. -- snowplow humor

Our minister told this in church yesterday, and we all thought it was hilarious.

An eighteen-year-old boy that had spent his childhood growing up in Florida decided to come to Notre Dame to go to school, since they had such a wonderful athletic record. However, he was concerned about having to get around in the harsh winter weather, since he had no experience with such things in Florida.
His parents told him, “If you get stuck out in a snowstorm, just wait for a snowplow to come by and follow him. He will have plowed and salted the road and it will be as safe as possible.”
So when the first winter came, the lad was out running errands one Saturday when a bad lake-effect snowstorm came up. Sure enough, the roads started to get slippery and treacherous, and he remembered his parent’s advice. He waited until he saw a snowplow, and started to follow it. For hours he followed the snowplow, turning everywhere the snowplow did, and following him as closely as he dared.
Finally, after several hours of this, the snowplow driver stopped the rig, got out of the cab, and motioned for the young man to roll down his window. When he did, the snowplow driver yelled, “What in the world are you doing? Why are you following me like this?”
The young man replied, “Well, sir, I’m from Florida, and not used to driving in the snow. My parents told me that if I got stuck out in a snowstorm while driving, to wait for the first snowplow I saw and to follow him and I would be safe.”
After hearing this, the snowplow driver thought for a minute and said, “Well, suit yourself, but I’m done with the Meijer lot now, and I’m heading over to Wal-Mart.”
