You PROBABLY are OK. A couple years ago I dropped the “oil” on a newly aquired ’47 Minnie Mo U. The stuff that came out looked like and had the consistency of chocolate pudding - it came out in chunks (took it several days to drain completely…) However dumping in a few gallons of diesel to help flush out the remainder of the old lube, then refilling with 13 gallons of fresh 80W-90 the transmission actually ran quieter. Found also the gear lever works easier too. So I guess unless you got a large quantity of clear water first when you started to drain - which causes rusting of wetted bearings ‘n gears – your transmission is probably alright.
