Ya Howard, I think I used 1/2 inch bolts on mine. I just couldn't bring myself to drill a hole more than half the width of that flat flange. Allan you are right. There is a law against using the blue wrench on a Farmall frame. It is on page 78, about halfway down on the left side of the page, paragraph 3, article 2-C,of the 1949 edition of the Farmer's Almanac. Verbatum it states: A blue wrench, sometimes called a cutting torch, shall not be used on any tractor wearing the color "red". These tractors are too valuable for ongoing use in everyday operation of the family farm to be subjected to such treatment. If, in the course of farming events, the operator of said farm is inclined to use a blue wrench, let him get started on a green tractor, as that is where most of them will end up anyway.(Sorry Indy).
