Paul, I have read your posts on the 300u with some interest. I have one too. I think you are spot on on the steering being the weakest component. I have tried for years to get a power steering unit, in good shape, at a reasonable price (<1000?). Haven't done it yet. I have seen one 300U with a powersteering box off a 460U - I was told he had to grind the castings a bit, but it fit. I was hoping this company in Minn. would make a aftermarket unit, but they told me they lost thier engineering mule, so didn't proceed with it. I have thought of undertaking this myself, but I don't know if I have the time. I would probably try for a rotary unit, rather than one with steering cylinders. A bendix box of some sort would be the cheapest. I saw a suggestion here recently of making the pittman arms longer - that might just work good enough! Irv
