I would try what MO Boy has suggested by cranking
over the engine with the sparkplugs installed. I would be very careful driving a screwdriver between the machined surfaces. I've used a carpenter's wrecking bar to pry up heads if there's any exterior area of the head that you can pry on without damaging the head or the engine block. Take your time. Hal
