Super A steering shaft removal

I need to pull the engine for a rebuild and the front end is the next thing to come off the tractor. From the manual, which only addresses this matter in 2 brief paragraphs, it looks like I need to remove the bearing retainer and shaft nut; separate the steering shaft bracket from the support and then what? Do I just unscrew steering shaft from the box? This looks like the only logical next step. By the way, thanks to El Toro for the sleeve puller drawing, Greg
