I have a 340 Utility, and recently a good deal on a 1701 loader came up. Now that I've got it home, I'm concerned that I didn't think through well enough how I can attach the loader. The 1701's frame flanges will bolt up to the tractor well enough, in fact the bolt spacing is the same. However, I'm concerned about where to tie in the tubular struts (2 on each side). The only place that is possible is to the front weight casting below the radiator. Since, after closer examination I see that weight is bolted to the front of the block, now I'm wondering if that is an acceptable place to tie in the stress of the loader? This is a photo of the 340, currently apart to install a new front axle. What would be the best way to attach the 1701? Does anyone have a 1701 on a 340? Am I worrying unnecessarily? I'd appreciate your advice.
