yes, you can but you will have to pull the wheel, remove the brake drum and pull the shaft out. Is it worth it? Then if he bought you another lefthand lever you will have to do a little engineering to make it work. Now on the other hand if he bought you a righthand lever (yes, there is such a thing) you have a very rare item and must by all means install it.
