I paid $1000 for a new one about 25 years ago. Don't know the cost of a new one now, but I bet it's over $2000. Based on that, $1000 is a fair price for a used one in good condition. As Hugh says, be sure you have all the mounting parts. Also get a manual so you will get your setup correct.
