DuPont and PPG both have cheaper paint than that. PPG Omni acrylic urethane can be had for less than $100/gallon, including hardener. Gallon sizes of MP170 epoxy primer and MP182 primer surfacer, along with the reducers, etc will push the cost close to $300, and you will have some left over, I don't know if these are available in quarts, you don't need much MP182. DuPont Nason, the Omni equivalent, is probably a little higher, but not $400. These are better paints than CIH 2150, and can be used as a system, since all components are compatible. There is no guess work as the spec sheets tell you everything you need to know regarding prep, mixing and use. $400 a gallon sounds more like a bc/cc system used on a car--it will last forever, but really is not needed on a tractor. I have forgotten the year of your tractor, but the DuPont/PPG paint codes for pre 1949 tractors are 7410/70019, post 1949 DuPont 96766/71310.
