I have a 504 International that stopped running the other day. Traced it down to a broken wire that was going into the Resistor. Reattatched the wire and it started right up. The Resistor was in very poor condition and in the process of hooking the wire back up it broke into several peices. Went to the IH Dealer today and got a new one, it appears to be the correct one, same size, shape and bracket system. They also looked it up and said it was the correct part. I hooked it up and the Tractor will not start. I unhook it and try the old one that is all busted up (wire coil is all pulled out and everything) and the tractor starts right up. Put the new one back on and it will not start again. I tested it with a bacis continuity tester and it shows that there is no borken wires inside. Any Ideas would be great. Thanks in advance. Steve
