It IS NOT just a "bushing reducer that you can pick up from a harware store".

It is similar to a pipe reducer bushing, in that the OD is threaded pipe thread, but the inside is threaded with a finer thread than pipe thread, and it has a "step" inside, beyond the threads, that the sender bulb bottoms against.

It should be no problem for a CNH dealer to get a replacement.
