It depends on what kind of a hay wagon your talking about. I
have many fond memories of using the W4 to pull loads of small
square bales- indeed, that was it's main job. It would do it in
road gear, but if you got to a hill you had to downshift to fourth.
As far as just being a handy tractor, the W4 wasn't really it. Ours
had the old tube style seat that was all worn out and it had a
permanent list to the right, so you were always sloshed to the
right side of the seat, which got anoying after while. That
doesn't stop me from wanting one now, though.
