Cowman: I presume you are suggesting Farmall on the Farmalls and McCormick Deering on the W series tractors. You are right, I stand corrected. The reason I hesitated on steel pulley back in early 40s, is my dad bought the W4 new with paper pulley. In 51 he traded the W4 for a new H. At delivery of new H with steel pulley by IH dealer my dad said, " hold on now quite so fast, I had a paper pulley and will continue to have a paper pulley." So the pullies go switched right there in barn yard. I expect you may find a few early 40s tractors equiped with steel pullies that happened just that way.
