The use of too much force will break rings and cause a lot of oil burning. I have freed up old tractors, some of which did not subsequently burn oil. It depends on how badly stuck they are. The exhaust open to rain for five years, you might as well tear it down. You may even have a freeze crack in No. 2. Sealed up but stuck after several years, if you can get it freed up without breaking anything you have a good chance at not having to tear down. You can tell a lot by looking at the spark plugs when you pull them. If they look like it may run with the old plugs, that is good news.
