Actually, that line is drawn as a triangel on both the wide front AND the narrow front, because the pivot is located at the front-center. (Now if the wide front lateral beam were welded so it could not pivot, left/right, I totally agree... the stance would be spread from wheel to wheel and the wide front would have a "square" footprint.) As long as the beam is allowed to swing freely, the rollover stability is very much the same.
