Joe, my experience is with a 584 locked. Someone on this forum told me to move the tractor forward slowly and give the right wheel brake pedal a good hard stomp, then do the same to the left, after a couple of tries the differential did release. Also, get under the tractor and trace the linkeage to the transmission housing. I found several points where the linkeage could be lubricated and did so. In checking the tractor over recently I have discovered that my linkeage rod has broken and I will have to get at it and repair the break, again the moving parts need lube of some kind.
