I swear,there was zero rust protection on IH trucks.Every one I have ever seen around here have had tons of rust.Seems every driveway had a Scout plow truck,but they rotted away to nothing just sitting there.Good engines,but lousy bodies. I worked on one way back in 1983,a 3/4 ton rack body....and the inner fenderwell and hood hinge attachment was a roadsign! Still was marked with the SPEED LIMIT 35MPH! readily visible underhood.Seems that was the best metal on the whole truck! A guy I knew had a 63,64 Scout 4 cylinder,and it was held together with thousands of pop rivets! Another was a 67 dumptruck,that you could see daylight around the windshield frame! When they rusted,it was terminal!
