My 2001 GMC drivers window screwed up so I took it to the dealer and I had to get a new window redulator because they are cable operated and you cannot just replace the cable= buy the whole unit, of course my warranty has just run out. I was telling a mechanic friend of mine and he said he could fill the back of my truck with GMC window regulators that he has replaced and he predicted that the passenger side would be close behind....later the same day the passenger window regulator snapped. Well after spending $332 for one I was not happy and went straight to the dealer. The area warranty supervisor refused warranty saying they weren't having a problem with regulators. The dealer's service manager told me they had replaced quite a few this winter so they suggested the GMC Help Line. In short I got the same reaction from that rep, that they were not aware that there was any problem with the design and workmanship of the regulators. My last words were that it was interesting that a truck with 93K would have both window regulators go in a two day period and that a repair shop guy would tell me he could fill the back of my truck with broken ones he has replaced. Anybody out there had to replace them on your GMC truck/Chev truck? Thanks, I would appreciate any feedback...Mike in Exeter Ontario
