We bought our 886 new with no 3-point. I think not having one was pretty common in this area since I don't ever remember seeing one until we bought the first tractor we ever had on our place with a 3-point, our 484, which we still have and use. I agree with Allan- a 3-point is pretty handy, and if you have one, you'll probably come up with a use for it sooner or later and be glad you have it. Then again, if you don't think you need one now, and you buy a tractor without, you may never miss it. We now have three large 4-wd "green" tractors, all equipped with three points. They hardly ever get used, since our only 3-point attachments are a posthole auger, a gopher poison drill, and a wire roller for fencing, all of which are better-suited for the smaller 484. Using the big tractors on these items is like hunting squirrels with a 30-30.
