Was out burning burning nettle, burrdock, corn stubble, etc. yesterday and using my 240U with front blade. I noticed the blade wasn"t lifting and power steering was getting gerky (sp). Thought I had better get out of the burning field. Ended up backing up to the barn and blade wouldn"t lift. Checked the oil and level is WAY up. Pump shot? I asked an old IH dealer and he said they gave up repairing pumps as the seals wouldn"t hold. Now they replace with new. Comments...thanks. Oh, yeah, while going through the field with my "45 2N w/front blade I had visitors. First county deputy checking to see if someone was monitoring the fire-just as I was starting the 2N. Later, the fire chief showed up and said the dep"t. was on its way as the fire had been called in. Asked if I wanted it put out, I said NO. Sorry for rambling. That 2N sure saved me a lot of work yesterday, blading off material to confine the fire. Signed...a former local firefighter.
