need advice on rewiring C lights

Please give me some help rewiring the lights on my C. The old wires won't just pull out and if they did, I don't think new ones would just slide in easily around that corner. Do I have to remove the round bars that the lights are mounted on? How? Are they threaded?
I can see that each side has a small set screw but I can't believe that's the only thing holding those bars. Any advice is appreciated!
