I would replace the condenser, then see if the tractor will start. Have you checked the rotor
for any residue? Clean the metal on the rotor that contacts the cap. Check for voltage at the coil with switch on if this is battery ignition.
Your switch could be the defective. Check for voltage at the switch then the coil. Hal
