Hi Arod I beleve the tractors were made to run on low octain . The higher the octain the cooler they will run.I beleve with the high compression kit it would run a little better with higher octain but I think for what you did you would be waisting your money running anything over 87. I have not ever ran a dipstick I just fill her up untill she works good and if she gets slow I ad a quart. I dont think you would hurt it to over fill her I will measure a dip stick and let you know so you can make one out of wire to check it with. JON
