Magman, you do have me curious, is there anything else different on this engine? How about the casting codes? A friend of mine was working on an M and we discovered that the casting code on the engine block did not match up with any codes that would have been correct for an M. In fact, the codes put the date of casting somewhere around 1959 if I remember correctly, and it was an M block. Not super, not 400, not 450.
