Blue smoke usually indicates burning oil. Do you have to add oil frequently or are your spark plugs fouling? If neither of these is the case and you have enough power I’d check a few other things out first before I’d jump in on a new set of rings. The blue smoke could be coming from oil going past the valve guides. There are valve guide seals that are available and can be installed without removing the head. You can either use air pressure or a piece of rope in the cylinder (make sure you leave some hanging out of the spark plug hole) to hold the valves up while you put on the seals. These won’t cost much and might help reduce the amount of smoke especially at startup.
