Almost as an after thought I askd the shop to magnaflux my H head before installing new valve train. The engine was running before rebuild with just a little blue smoke. But on teardown number 4 piston was real loose, ring broken. Sure enough head was cracked in #4 combustion chamber. Located replacement head 90 miles away. Bought that took it to the shop, CRACKED in TWO combustion chambers. Called another guy who said he had two or three. Well he has had THREE returned that were cracked. So I (we) are zero for five. Have located two more and they are headed for magnaflux. Just to let you know that these old Farmall's ain't so "bulletproof" after all. gUESS THIS PUTS 5 MORE OLD h'S ON THE PART OUT LIST. GordoSD
