I have an extra set of 4-1/8th overbore pistons and sleeves for a 450,,,,, firecraters,,,,, mite make you one heck of a deal on them. they are used but, the pistons are in good shape. Would be a cheap HP increase, maybe 5 or 7 hp,,, takes it from a 264, to a 281. Like i said, there is lots of very tough "farm stock" M,s Super M's MTA's round here for low gear pullers. On average in our club, the everyday "farm stock" tractors are round 65-75 hp, and they run real good. Im not one for tearing up a good engine to jump classes, usually downsize ya know,,,, drop back a class. Nothing wrong with that, just have to keep your tractor in a class it can compete in. Keep it stock, keep it running good, and just go have fun with it. may not be 12 hours on a plow,, but its bout 30-45 seconds, of the most fun you can have, on an old tractor. run a compression test on the old SM!! Mite be some hidden power in there somewhere that can help you out,,,,,,,,,,, theres always something hiding,, in hp, if you know where to look. and, keep the farm, in farm stock. that 450 in the background,,,, 87 hp,, M&W stroker crank spec, 4-1/8th bore. it has some real good torque for a puller.
