Does this tractor have a ballast resistor in the ignition circuit? If it does it could be defective. Are you still getting fire to the plugs after it quits running? Could be coil or condenser or both, but not likely. If you don't have fire here is a list posted by Wayne Swenson.
1. No spark be sure distr cap is Dry & Clean
2.Is there battery votage to the coil?
3.Remove distr. cap, rotor & pointscover, remove the coil wire from the cap & put it within 1/4" of ground.
4.With points closed & ignition switch on, snap the points open a few times & watch for spark at the coil wire end.
5. No spark: may have burned or dirty points, a bad condenser or a bad coil. Coil primary (battery voltage) wire to points must be attached to + terminal on the coil if battery is + grounded. Hal
