300U production was a very small part of total IH production -- many parts fit only the 300/350U. Production exceeded 5,000,000 20+?? years ago (not going to get into that again), and Case-IH version is still building tractors and parts. It is my belief and experience that the more tractors a part fit the more likely that it is still available -- thus the lack of steering parts for your 300U -- I don't think IH makes many of that type of part for much of anything. In a way your 300U and my 460U are sort of orphans. Unless the aftermarket kicks in, it will get worse.
