We're all nice guys from out in this area, Slo, and Cowman, although I've never met him in person, is a worthy ambassador. Speakin' of steam traction engines, I spotted one today sitting along with a few other very early tractors in an open shed near Bayard NE. Unfortuanately I was accompanying the feild trip of my kid's two-room country school(9 kids total) so I didnt get to check it out further. Also saw and didn't get to stop at a Farm and Ranch Museum on the outskirts of Gering NE...lots of old red and other colored iron sitting outside there too. Looked to be worthy of a possible trip back. Ever been there Allan? Finally, on the highway northeast of Bayard, there was a super-rough looking 2+2 sitting in a farmyard. Part of the hood was missing and the paint was so faded it looked Case orange. Sad sight. But a couple more miles East there was an 86-series something that looked absolutely showroom-new.
