Fact: When we drive our full-size tractors across the lawn, they leave tracks that the lawn mower (a Farmall Cub with a 60" Woods deck, btw), can't mow out. There's an imprint of a tractor tread in the lawn for the next 2-3 mowings. Fact: An H is a much heavier tractor, puts more pounds per square inch to the ground, than any rider lawn tractor, or even a Farmall Cub. Fact: Lug tires concentrate the weight of the tractor on the lugs. They WILL put indentations into all but the hardest of lawns. Turf tires, and tri-rib fronts for that matter, spread the load much more evenly over a larger area. Lug tires leave imprints on all but the hardest gravel lawn. I'd rather not mash the grass into the ground before I've mowed it.
