Hi, A buddy of mine has an old 444 IH gas (unknown year) with power steering. He wants to add a loader so I gave him one from my Massey 135 that I had. The control valve was smoked (water in it), so we replaced it with a joy stick control valve. Problem is the control valve didn't say whether it was open center or closed center. Isn't the IH hydraulics a closed center system?, Kind of like the John Deere? I thought if we put the wrong kind of valve on it, it will over heat the hydraulic fluid, and may cause a pump failure or seals or all of the above. I don't know how to test the valve to see what kind it is. Maybe a hydraulic shop could tell me so I won't guess. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Robert
