Did you check the Coil, I don't think it's your Carb. If a coil is going bad it will do what you described under a load, You didn't say if you took the load off that would run ok, or if you had to restart it? If you had to restart it could you do so right away? and did it run ok till you loaded it? Also if your gas cap isn't venting you could see simular things. Valve timing could be a problem also..
