Hi Ronald, you say the "oil foams". Are you sure that you haven't got detergent crankcase oil mixed in with the Hytran hydraulic oil. This happened to my brother several years ago. He bought a wood splitter at a farm auction. Hooked it up to his IH 454 and everything worked OK but when we used the 454 in the field and the hydraulic oil would get hot the hydraulic brakes would go spongy. Bleed the brakes and the hydraulic oil was all full of air bubbles. Turns out the cylinder on the wood splitter had been used on a Ferguson tractor that had detergent motor oil as the hydraulic oil. There was enough of detergent motor oil got mixed with the IH Hytran oil to cause foaming and air bubbles. Had to drain and flush the transmission/hydraulic system three times before got rid of the detergent oil. Hope this helps JB2
