I agree with Raffo that if you are getting oil in the water but not water in the oil, the oil cooler is the likely culprit. Both oil and water are in it, the oil is under higher pressure (about 35-40 psi) than the water (about 7 psi or so) so if a small opening develops internally, the oil will be pushed into the coolant before coolant shows in the oil.
