Paul: Another item that could be noisy on 300s with IPTO is the PTO drive line. Two places this can rattle or click at low rpm or shut down are the seasonal disconect or spline going into presure plate. The IPTO drive is splined directly to the presure plate, thus where you have clutch will affect it very little. A quick check on this is engage the PTO, then have someone turn PTO shaft enough to use any free travel. Unless the free travel is great don't worry much as they did this when new. Seasonal disconnects are now starting to become loose enough, we see a few breaking. This question has been asked at YT before, not recently though. My Farmall 300 was very close to being striped in the drive spline on a rebuild at 20 years. We had to install new shaft as well as presure plate.
