You probably have a somewhat plugged block. Remove the radiator and the lower outlet housing. Then with an air hose and water pressure you should be able to flush out the lower portion of the block. With a good lite you can look in there and using a piece of stiff wire clean the four nickle sized holes that let the water down by the sleeves to circulate as chances are there is lots of sludge in there. Would also be a great time to add a water pump that is used on the C. This would end all problems. Lots of have been done this way all extra you need is the longer fan belt. Dont worry about the radiator it is just fine.
