i have a '64 706 with the 263 engine. pulling a 4-16 plow or 15' disc it will use 5-6 gallons of gas an hour. cutting hay with a sickle mower, raking or baling it will use 2-3 gallons an hour. playing with the carb can help greatly. the proper adjustment is halfway. turn the screw in all the way then back it out counting the turns till it wants to die. turn it back in halfway. i run mine 1 to 1 1/2 turns in from there when i don't need all the power and it's really easy on gas. i have gotton away with less than 2 gallons an hour set like that. like the others have said they are great tractors if you take care of them. casey in SD
