Also a good machine shop can weld the gear up. Since it's fourth I wouldn't worry too much. Make sure you don't have any junk in the case. Get a big magnet and go fishing. Check the pilot bearing and the bearing cage. It's the only roller bearing in the tractor I think, and as it wears it will drop the trans. shaft down enough to cause problems. If you can get salvage gears it would be better, but since the price of steel went up a lot of old tractors went to China.
