2+2 tractors

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the 2plus2's that IH built? Would be interested in differences between the 3388/3588/3788s and the 63/65/6788's. What were the transmissions? I'm thinking the 6000 series were using the same transmission as the 5088/5288/and 5488's and the 3000 series used the same transmission as the 1466/1486's. Correct? Any trouble with these tractors or were they an "old reliable"? Thanks Sid
