Use a tester to determine if there is voltage at the coil input when you turn on the switch. If not, temporarily run a jumper wire from the hot post on the battery or starter to the primary input side of the coil. (small terminal opposite the one attached to the points) If the engine now continues to run, you have a wiring problem with the switch. Have you converted to 12 volt?
