Actually the previous owner had no generator at all,
and the switchbox was bypassed. He ran the tractor
directly off the battery. So I'm trying to put it all back
together again with headlamps and a 3-brush
generator/VR combo.

I believe your 1ohm reading is quite accurate, but thank
you for the proper part number. I may just bypass the
dimmer circuit.
