Don't know for sure but suspect partly for the same reason the front tires on your car are towed in-so it goes straight forward and doesn't pull left or right. You'll notice that they are slanted to the rear also, equivelent to the caster on the front of you car. Also if you run over something with one rear tire both fronts tend to stay on the ground as the contact point with the ground is close together. Dave
