I suppose this is a silly question but I want to make sure how to shift this baby. No before I get into the specifics, I race/ run Track Day Motorcycles so shifting is important to me on the track, but I knwo that shifting might be sensitive on an old tractor like this. So here we go. I assume that the gearbox and gears themselves are pretty open/slopy, meaning easy to hit the gear correctly when shifting unlike my race bike. However; I have noticed that when I try to shift from 1st to 2nd or any other gear for that matter, it doesn't like what I am doing and starts the hole grinding thing, so I always stop the tractor and then change gears because I am nervous about hurting the clutch during shifting. I know this doesn't make sense, but I want to make sure I am doing this correctly. What do you suggest that I do, should I just keep practicing hitting the gears better as I am driving the tractor? What do you folks suggest?
