I have one and it does it sometimes too. I finally opened up the voltage regulator and cleaned up the points and the problem went away. Occsionally I start it and the light acts that way, but the amp gage is showing a charge. I just use the tractor and the next time I start it its normal. I don"t know why but its only happens here and there, seems like the regulator sticks or fails. Mine is a lucas and I would hate to know the cost, may replace with a delco.
