First off, now I'm feeling really guilty cause I have a tractor question and haven't posted in a long time...like I am totally ignoring you guys when I don't have problems. My excuse is that I am in college and it's taking wayyyy too much of my time! Sorry! Anyway, IH 350 D Utility...new regulator last year. Long story short, contacts were stuck, generator decided to be a motor and sucked down 3 batteries before realizing what was going on. Getting a new regulator today...question(s) could the generator have made the regulator stick, or did the regulator screw up the generator. Second, could it be that the wires are crossed on the generator causing the regulator to malfunction? Not looking forward to a new generator (and not going alternator at twice the price)but want to be prepared for "the worst". Adding a nice story for Hugh.... Hubby moved some barn litter for me...got STUCK and kept on spinning...had mud up 4 inches past the rear axle. Took ME 3 hours to dig US out! That was an exciting family adventure! Thanks for any help guys. Diana
